Serbia Zijin Mining d.o.o. Bor is a mining company that operates in the vicinity of Bor and which, starting from December 2018, operates within the Chinese mining corporation Zijin Mining Group.

The focus of the company is on the Cukaru Peki deposit, which consists of the lower and upper zone. The exploitation of the upper zone was approved and officially started in October 2021, while the mining facilities in the lower zone are currently in the initial phase.

The purpose of the Zijin Mining Group is to develop mining for a better society, and the group's mission is to contribute to the economic growth of mining areas, high-quality mineral products, and contribute to the development of the global mining industry.

Serbia Zijin Copper Doo Bor, founded by acquiring RTB BOR (i.e., Bor Copper Mines) that was incorporated in 1903, is a modern copper mine developer integrating copper mining, mineral processing and smelting, sales of copper, gold, platinum, and other metals, and mine construction. Its mines are located in Bor and Majdanpek, two cities in the east of Serbia.

On December 18, 2018, Zijin Mining Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Zijin Mining Group”) acquired a controlling stake of approximately 63% of RTB BOR through a capital increase of USD 350 million, a strong holder of RTB BOR, with the remaining 37% shares owned by the Republic of Serbia.

By the end of 2023, Serbia Zijin Copper held ownership over four active copper mines, Majdanpek (MS), Veliki Krivelj (VK), New Cerovo (NC) and Jama (JM), one limestone mine and one copper smelter. With 6,192 employees, the Company is among the largest enterprises in Serbia and an economic pillar in the east of Serbia.
