Monika Wieczorek-Kosmala currently holds a position of an Associate Professor of the University of Economics in Katowice, in the Department of Strategic and Regional Studies, formerly in the Department of Corporate Finance and Insurance. In research, she combines her expertise in corporate finance, risk management and insurance, to study firm’s performance under the impacts of climate change risks. She is currently involved in several projects in the areas of climate adaptation, climate risk reporting, ESG reporting developments in the European Union, green taxonomy implementation, and regional challenges of the process of green transition. She holds a position of Visiting Professor and Research Fellow at the University of Bari Aldo Moro (Italy), and was awarded the Dekaban Liddle Senior Fellowship at the University of Glasgow (UK). She is a member of the Executive Committee Member of the Accounting and Finance in Emerging Economies Special Interest Group of the British Accounting and Finance Association, and a member of the Committee of the European Risk Research Network. She holds the position of a Director of the Centre for Economics of Climate Change, established at the University of Economics in Katowice.
