
Dr. Nazim Hussain is Professor of Accounting and Finance at EMLV Business School in Paris and Associate Professor at the University of Groningen. His research sits at the intersection of corporate sustainability, governance, and financial reporting, with a particular focus on ESG disclosure, corporate social responsibility decoupling, and greenwashing. He has published extensively in leading journals such as Journal of Business Ethics, British Journal of Management, Journal of Product Innovation Management, Business & Society, The British Accounting Review, Journal of International Money and Finance, and Energy Economics. His work explores how governance structures, financial markets, and institutional environments shape firms’ sustainability performance and reporting practices across different global contexts. Dr. Hussain has held visiting professorships in Europe and Africa and regularly contributes as a keynote speaker at international conferences on sustainability, accounting, and finance. His research aims to better understand how organizations can move beyond symbolic ESG commitments toward meaningful and measurable impact.
